Here we recognize and acknowledge the work of the Vermont Center for Geographic Information for the enhanced imagery used by our map. Their work improves our map.

VCGI Imagery is similar to Google's Satellite view but the imagery is newer (by about 4 years) and more detailed.

Usage

The VCGI Imagery should be used when the map is at higher zoom levels for close inspection of ground features. This is especially so when inspecting the relationship between ground features and other map layers such as zoning or tax parcel boundaries. For a comparison refer to the images below.

VCGI Imagery Notice the higher resolution of the image and that the tax parcels are more in alignment with the roads.

Google Satellite Imagery Notice the lower quality of the image and that the tax parcels are misaligned with the roads.
